Assessing and Assisting Persons with Alzheimer’s

This program will briefly cover Alzheimer’s disease and dementia basics, highlighting disease hallmarks and current statistics. Common behaviors will be covered and interaction & communication techniques during emergency situations will be taught. Wandering, is a potentially life-threatening behavior and response techniques to this specific behavior will be discussed. Assessment techniques for emergency medical professionals will also be addressed. Lastly, Alzheimer’s Association programs & services will be explained with a Q&A period at the end.
